Provide and the Southern AIDS Coalition are thrilled to announce My Home, My Voice, a  new storytelling advocacy fellowship for providers and community members in southern states!

My Home, My Voice is a new collaborative initiative from Provide and the Southern AIDS Coalition that supports healthcare workers, social service providers, and community members in southern communities who are interested in engaging in storytelling advocacy around the intersections of reproductive and sexual health (including abortion access) and living with HIV.

Dannie Shaw, Provide’s deputy director of organizational strategy, is spearheading the initiative to connect advocates across southern communities who are ready to take a stance and inspire others to action for better healthcare policy.

“Compassionate healthcare and social service providers are critical stakeholders in transforming systems of care from within. When access to healthcare is restricted, providers witness and experience those harms firsthand. My Home, My Voice is a strategic effort to make noise across the south by amplifying the voices of providers and emergent leaders speaking out about how challenges—including stigma and criminalization—negatively impact the health of their communities,” Shaw said.

My Home, My Voice fellows will have the opportunity to:

  • participate in a series of skill-building workshops around the power of personal storytelling, including engaging with traditional media, social media, and legislative advocacy
  • develop writing and public speaking skills and confidence in a supportive, peer-driven environment
  • share stories as part of advocacy campaigns with Provide and the Southern AIDS Coalition
  • receive support around protecting personal privacy and security when engaging in storytelling
  • build community within a cohort of peers
  • receive a stipend ($1,000) for participating in the fellowship

Six (6) fellowships are available for the fall 2025 cohort, which will convene August-December 2025. To be considered for the fellowship, complete the application at this link by June 30, 2025.
